Greetings Earth Dwellers.

Deep inside us lie emotions we sometimes can’t express. No facial expression, music, poetry or dance is able to rip those feelings out from the vessels in our body. So, they flow like the water. They continue to inhabit every living cell that we have, waiting to be felt and expressed as we purposefully ignore them and hide them under a facade that we sometimes believe to be true but most times, we are aware are lies. We go with the motions until we become the motion that is moved with, we become the song that is danced to and the paint that colors the world. Except we are not complete. Our minds are unable to fully connect with the current time because we left a part of us unfinished, not felt, and hidden. So, we let the emotions that we wrapped around in a block of…

Cool New Places to Hang out In Nairobi in 2015….

The Chronicles of an African Girl

As of late 2014, a couple of venue owners to be had spoken to me about their upcoming bars and restaurants. Every time I met friends they would ask me what is new in Nairobi and I would run through the list again and again.. And then I remembered that I had a blog I could send them to with a list of places to check out in 2015. Here is the list, party people!

1. The Wet Lounge & Grill

This venue is set to open in a couple of months. The owners are a lovely couple who invited me for a private viewing yesterday.. I liked what I saw.

The Wet lounge will be for the grown up crowd, with food available too within the premises. I will add further details the closer they are to opening.

A tale of two cities : Part 1 [Mombasa]

So, this weekend the 11th edition of the Worldwide Instameet happened. It is aimed at bringing photographers together as they bond and make memories. Several of my friends and I got to attend two Instameets in two cities in two days. It was one hell of an exhilarating experience. Getting to meet and interact with photographers from across diverse cultures was really an eye opener. I can’t wait to be back for the next Instameet image We docked safely! image Meet Jerono, Eyan and Emily who were among my travel companions image Old meets new with Jerono, her leso and Converse pairing was awesome image Some of the faces at WWIM11 Mombasa imageExploring the tiny caves was amazing though Nimu was freaking out about bats imageThe reflection on the crocodile pool was breathtaking imageJerono caught snapping imageOne place you wouldn’t want to trip and fall imageShooting the shooter imageBaby crocs up close and personal image

[Work in Progress] Midweek challenge: Photo Retouching

So,I’ve been pretty much free this week and haven’t been shooting much. But I’ve been busy watching alot of random YouTube video tutorials ,until I stumbled upon the tutorials by Scott Kelby. THEY ARE LIFE CHANGING! I spent most of my night up,going through almost 4 hours of video tutorials and so today I did my first retouch without refering to any material. It’s not yet complete, and it’s my first try but I’d be happy to get any feedback.
